This class is designed and modified to meet the needs of athletes with disabilities.

Swimming is one of the most popular sports in the world. Unlike other sports, swimming is a life skill that is taught, first, to ensure safety and, secondly, for sports and competition purposes.

Aquatics covers a great variety of swimming skills, from short sprints to longer events and relays. Participants will learn and refine the competitive swim strokes as they prepare for area and state competition in this hourly class held twice a week.

Team members become stronger physically while developing friendships with teammates. Swimmers will not only participate in individual swim events but can also be members of a competitive relay team.

Participants must be able to have minimal swimming abilities to sign up for the class.  The class will be refining already established swimming skills.  Athletes must be 8 years of age to participate and be able to swim across the lap pool with assistance.
